BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Sanaz Vatankhah, will conduct a workshop on applying fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques in tourism and hospitality research. Drawing on her extensive experience publishing on MCDM in top journals such as Tourism Management, Journal of Business Research, and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Vatankhah will introduce participants to the fundamentals of fuzzy MCDM and its potential to address complex decision-making challenges unique to this sector. The workshop will cover techniques such as Fuzzy AHP and Fuzzy TOPSIS, illustrated through case studies and her own published research, showing how these methods can transform decision-making in tourism and hospitality. Participants will receive practical guidance to implement fuzzy MCDM in their own research, equipping them with advanced tools to enhance rigor and insight in their work. This workshop aims to empower researchers and practitioners by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and introducing methodological innovation to tourism and hospitality studies.

Professor Levent Altinay will share his experience of successful funding applications to the prestigious funding bodies including EU, Horizon, ESRC (Economic Social Research Council), Newton, British Academy, British Council and TUBITAK. During the workshop, Altinay will cover a wide range of topics including creative idea generation for research funding, formation of multidisciplinary research consortiums, use of networks, research design, dissemination of research findings and the generation of academically robust, practically meaningful research impact.
