BIOGRAPHY

Altinay is the Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Oxford Brookes Business School. Altinay’s research interests are in the areas of entrepreneurship, strategy and international business. He is particularly interested in the social outcomes of tourism and hospitality. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Service Industries Journal (Impact Factor, 7.4; CiteScore 19.2. Q1 Journal). Altinay was a member of the Business and Management Panel in Research Excellence Framework, Year 2021, in the UK. He was also a panel member  of the Business & Economics Panel in Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) Years 2014 and 2020 in Hong Kong. He sits on the editorial boards of more than twelve journals including Journal of Business Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. Altinay has a strong record of attracting blue chip external funding, including funding from the Horizon EU, ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council), Newton, British Council and the British Academy. Altinay has co-authored strategic management, entrepreneurship and research methods textbooks.

   

Workshop: Research Funding: Hard nut to crack?

Professor Levent Altinay will share his experience of   successful funding applications to the prestigious funding bodies including EU, Horizon, ESRC (Economic Social Research Council), Newton, British Academy, British Council and TUBITAK. During the workshop, Altinay will cover a wide range of topics including creative idea generation for research funding, formation of multidisciplinary research consortiums, use of networks, research design, dissemination of research findings and the generation of academically robust, practically meaningful research impact.
