BIOGRAPHY
Lecturer (PhD) Onur Çelen was born in Ankara in 1989. In 2012, he gained his bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from Balıkesir University, School of Tourism Management and Hotel Management. In the same year, he started his master’s degree at Balıkesir University Institute of Social Sciences and completed his master’s degree in 2015. In 2016, he started his doctorate education at Gazi University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Tourism Management. In 2017, he started his academic career as a lecturer at Bursa Uludağ University Harmancık Vocational School. In 2022, Dr. Çelen completed his doctoral education and continues his lecturer doctor position at Bursa Uludağ University. In 2020, he became a member of the Association of Tourism Academics (TUADER). Since then, he has also been the financial coordinator of the association. His research interests in tourism are tourism management and tourism marketing.
Workshop: Research Funding: Hard nut to crack?
Professor Levent Altinay will share his experience of successful funding applications to the prestigious funding bodies including EU, Horizon, ESRC (Economic Social Research Council), Newton, British Academy, British Council and TUBITAK. During the workshop, Altinay will cover a wide range of topics including creative idea generation for research funding, formation of multidisciplinary research consortiums, use of networks, research design, dissemination of research findings and the generation of academically robust, practically meaningful research impact.
