BIOGRAPHY
Lecturer Haydar Şahin completed his associate degree in Food and Beverage Management at Gaziantep University, followed by bachelor’s degrees in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Gaziantep University and Business Administration at Anadolu University. He obtained his master’s degree from Istanbul Ayvansaray University. Şahin began his professional career in kitchen operations and organizational processes at various long-established enterprises and international hotel chains, later advancing his operational expertise to the level of shift manager in restaurant management. He has provided professional consultancy to numerous businesses in Türkiye on menu design and concept development. Expanding his expertise to an international scale, he has also served as a consultant for overseas tourism enterprises, focusing on food and beverage equipment, industrial kitchen planning, and the design of personnel training processes.
Having started his academic career in 2017 as a Lecturer at Istanbul Rumeli University, where he held various administrative roles, Şahin has been serving as a Lecturer at Bingöl University’s Social Sciences Vocational School since 2023, where he also holds the position of Head of the Culinary Program. His scientific research primarily focuses on gastronomy tourism, geographically indicated products, digital kitchen technologies, sustainable gastronomy, and culinary practices. In addition to his academic publications, he serves as the executive editor of the journal SYNEX. Alongside his academic work, he maintains his strong ties to the industry by serving as a board member in sectoral non-governmental organizations and as a jury member in professional culinary competitions.
