BIOGRAPHY
Carlos Flavián is Professor of Marketing at the University of Zaragoza (SPAIN) and director of the METODO research group. His research focuses on the analysis of the interaction of people with technology, studying both the particularities of technology (e.g. usability) and the perceptions, behavioral intentions and actual behaviors of consumers (e.g. adoption, recommendation, eWOM, satisfaction, loyalty, etc.). This research has focused on diverse contexts such as tourism, hospitality and other services, marketing, shopping, etc.
The technologies studied have evolved from the study of online relationships through the Internet to the context of Industry 4.0 technologies (artificial intelligence, service robots, virtual assistants, virtual reality, augmented reality, etc.).
He is editor-in-chief of Spanish Journal of Marketing-ESIC, Strategy Editor of The Service Industries Journal, Regional Editor (for Europe) International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management and member of the editorial board of several hihgly reputed journals such as Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services; Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, etc. He has coordinated special issues as guest editor in several prestigious scientific journals such as International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management; Service Business; The Service Industries Journal; Journal of Service Management; Journal of Service Theory and Practice; Psychology & Marketing; etc.
He is the Spanish author with the highest scientific impact in Marketing, third in Business and Management. He has been Conference chair in different events organized in Zaragoza, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul and founder of AIRSI The Metaverse Conference held since 2019 to 2023.
