PLS-SEM: A Hands-on Workshop
This 6 hours worship will introduce the use of Partial Least Squares method of Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). PLS-SEM has recently gained increasing attention in various disciplines including management information systems, marketing, strategic management, accounting, family business research, operations management, and organizational research. Researchers and practitioners appreciate the various advantageous features that PLS path modelling offers in practical applications. Consequently, the method is currently regarded as suitable and, to some extent, a favorable alternative to the more restrictive traditionally used Covariance based SEM (CB-SEM). We believe that this workshop will help postgraduate students/researchers on how to do basic analysis using the SmartPLS software and how to present them professionally. SmartPLS is one of the leading software tools for PLS-SEM. It combines state of the art methods with an easy to use and intuitive graphical user interface.
The workshop will help you to:
- Understand the difference between two main types of SEM i.e., (i) CB-SEM and (ii) PLS-SEM.
- Understand the conditions where to use PLS-SEM and basic conceptions about it.
- Basic conceptions/misconceptions about PLS-SEM.
- Assessment of usage of PLS-SEM in Hospitality and other disciplines
- Mediation and moderation
- Higher order constructs
- Apply PLS-SEM to analyses data related to thesis and research papers.
Attend this special session to learn more about PLS-SEM and smartPLS and integrate these tools in your research! The session will introduce some basic datasets and examples that are developed to assist attendees of this session.
